Savoury Flax Seed Crackers

         Savoury Flax Seed Crackers

Ingredients

 2 cups flax seeds
 ½ cup hemp seeds
 ¼ cup chia seeds
 2 cups water
 1 tsp natural salt

 1 tbsp. dry herbs and spices of your choosing (when in doubt, choose 3 different spices
and add 1 tsp of each) (e.g. basil, oregano, and thyme, or chili powder, cumin, and
turmeric)

Instructions

1. Grind the flax seeds in a coffee grinder briefly to get a very coarse meal. Transfer into a
large mixing bowl.
2. Add all other ingredients. Mix quickly, before the flax absorbs too much water.
3. Spread the mixture immediately onto baking sheets, greased, or lined with baking
sheets.
4. Let it harder for 10 minutes and then score it into desired cracker shapes.
5. Bake them “low and slow” at approximately 250-300° for 40 minutes to 1.5 hours; or
get as close as you can to dehydrating them in the oven by setting the oven to the lowest
temperature (usually 150°) or until you achieve the desired texture (from slightly soft to
very crispy).
6. Crackers will keep in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks (or on the
counter if crispy and dried completely), or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
